Drywall Drywall everywhere!

Having drywall delivered when is pouring the rain is a bad idea.  We had 100 sheets delivered today and boy was it a pain. They couldn't fit the fork lift all the way into the garage, so we had two huge stacks of drywall sitting somewhat in the rain. It was covered in plastic but we were still in a hurry to move it.

I had to stick Crosby in his stroller and help Jared move it out of the rain.  It was really heavy and there was so much of it. I am however glad I was able to contribute a little to this renovation. I will load some pictures of our handy work later.

I think I forgot to mention......

Renovating with a nine month old, is one of the most challenging things I have ever done.  All of our family lives four hours away, and we do not have a babysitter here.  I try to help Jared do as much as I can, but Crosby loves to be held by his mommy.  I have his PNP, ERGO, and the stroller all over at the new house.  He will give me about 20 mins in each and I jump on the opportunity.

I knew taking this on was going to be a challenge, and I know it will be worth it in the end.  I just get frustrated when I can't help Jared do things that need to be finished. I know he does not mind doing the work, but I just want to be able to help him.  Jared's mom is going to keep him this weekend, and I will hopefully be able to help out a little more.  We have so much left to do, but I am positive that we will have it finished by the end of the month.

Delivery day

On Sunday we took a trip to Home Depot to order stuff for the house.  The lady we had helping us was.... well let's just say less then helpful.  It was a little like pulling teeth to get the order together and paid for.  After we paid she assured us that it would be delivered Tuesday(today).  Jared took off work so he could be there when they delivered it.  Delivery is curbside only and I can not carry 100 sheets of drywall into our house.  As he was about to walk out the door this morning we checked the receipt and noticed the incorrect delivery date.  The associate scheduled our delivery for Friday and we did not realize it.  I get on the phone and called Home Depot and talked  to about five separate people about the issue.

The first person says they are unable to help me and they send me to someone else.  I finally get to a manager and she takes my information to look up the order.  She tells me that she is going to try and get a truck to make our delivery today.  If she could not make the delivery happen today, she was going to take some money off of our order.  Home Depot contracts all of their deliveries out to a separate company, and they do not have much control over it.  The manager I talked to must be magic!  She found a truck for our delivery today.  They do not give a time so Jared is working away and waiting on the stuff to arrive.

Today we have coming to our house:

100 sheets of drywall

30 rolls of instillation

1 French door

lumber

I will post some pictures once the delivery gets to the house.
